2-1 for every game gets it right again. At 1-1 I was hoping we might go on to win but would have settled for a 1-1 to get my season started. Interesting to see that Loudon played up beside Ryan and did indeed have a good game and in one of our few good moves he did score, but it was a hard shift against Mensing and Travis for both him and Ryan. They had the edge for most of the first twenty minutes with at least four headers flying over or being blocked by Ferguson. We had a trialist in midfield ( Fry from Motherwell?) and should have taken the lead against the run of play with an excellent move on the left but Conroy shot over. It looked as if we would hold out till 45m but a Lister run took him clear and somehow his cross was bundled in by Cox, despite some hand ball claims waved aside by the Ref. 2 seconds later the whistle goes, much like last season. Got back into the game
as I said. They then managed to keep possession and set up Marc Millar who thumped the ball with a real dip from about 30 yards and it looked to be going over but dropped really quickly-Ferguson had no real chance. They spoiled the game for most of the rest but Russell came really close to equalising with a header off the post. Over the piece we might have sneaked a draw and it is going to be a long hard season. The trialist looked good in the middle, Ryan never really got a good chance, and Forfar looked well organised/hard to break down. pass marks to most of the team apart from my usual moans about Brown-if he had the work rate and heart of Cox to go with his undoubted skill he would be a player. Still at least we are not bottom of the pile but Arbroath at home next week will be a test. Tracksuit " manager" was vocal and yet another torrential downpour sent all the sun bathers scurrying for cover! Glad I was not on the Angus Hills.

Unfortunately it's a 2-1 Airdrie win, so no benefit to me at all!

You were really optimistic unlike myself so I don't know who feels worst after that loss. Anyway on to Arbroath.
