A proper claret. Think a few knew him on here. Sad to hear the news he passed away yesterday.

I'm so so sad
Not seen him for a while.
was hoping he'd be strong enough to go on tuesday and for him to give me verbals regarding my lack of attendance of late.

As you all know,we have lost A Claret legend,A fantastic, warm, funny friendly fella.

Only met him once whilst in Austria for pre-season. We played some German team (wacker berghausen?) and Selwyn launched a stream of abuse from the side of the pitch at some bemused German player. Seemed a top bloke. RIP

A legend amongst the travelling Clarets of the 70s and 80s. Sad to see him wither away to a shadow of his former self in recent months. Great memories of trips to Cambridge, Torquay, Newport etc. Sleep well Selwyn.

I remember the last game on The Longside before it was demolished, Shearer had just moved from Rovers to Newcastle.

Selwyn turned up to the game 5 minutes or so late due to finishing his pint off in the slusher, postitioned himself in the top right of the Longside and immediately started singing, "He f***ed off home, he's f***ed off, Shearer's f***ed off home".

The whole Longside started singing it and it the song stuck for a few weeks at both home and away games.

Also one time at Hillsborough, the Burnley fans were singing, "Lancashire la la la" to the Wednesday fans when in walked Selwyn into the Burnley end singing, "Yorkshire! Yorkshire! Yorkshire!" whilst thrusting his fist into the air.

Very funny bloke.
