In my opinion the best cover version of the Lou Reed classic Street Hassle.

[youtu.be]

I played Belinda Carlisle's greatest hits to shreds in my car for a week or so after my mother's passing and there was one track that eased the pain more than any other.same again when I was travelling behind the ambulance which was carrying my wife to Blackburn Royal.

This next tune, written by Mentor Williams, has been covered by many artists but this is the first ever recording of the song (my fav) by John Henry Kurtz off his Reunion album from 1972.

[youtu.be]

Another original recording that was written by Berry Gordy and Janie Bradford for Tamla Motown..

When I hear either of these two tunes,It brings back memories of me sharing a spliff with a young Fräulein sat on my knee in the local "Cartoon" nightclub in Lippstadt.

The needle returns to the start of the song
And we all sing along like before

I do like a cheery tune from time to time.(Sm109)

R I P Glen Campbell.

Not a fan of country music per sè but within most genre of music there are tunes that kind of hit the spot.
This is one 'em

[youtu.be]

If anyone has a desire to add any more tunes could you please just post them in text form rather than video form.
A page loaded with video links drastically slows the loading of the thread.

Soz for posting in video form, I just thought I would add some colour to the thread as I found some of the tunes depressing.

So on a lighter note, half a century on from when this tune was written, we have Black Lives Matter, Trump warning of " fire and fury ", and when I see the little children in this video I can't help think of the poor innocent kids in Iraq, Afghan and Syria today.

And someone asked me why I was anti- capitalist, well...
you tell me over and over and over again my friend,
Ah, you don't believe we're on the eve of destruction.
