Love to see you "Down under" So_Cal. What kind of board are you riding?

I had a shoulder reconstruction. I don't feel comfortable paddling in a wet suit anymore so a SUP works for me.

The quiver is down to two boards these days, a 9'6" Jim Phillips SWT and a 9'2" Robert August that I got to shape with the man himself.

The good news is my 12 year old has given up on his short board and has taken a real liking to the August. We have had a couple of fun sessions together - can't beat that!

So_Cal

How fantastic that your son goes out with you. Enjoy it whilst it lasts.

Must have been a real buzz shaping with Robert August. Was he in awe of you? (Sm14)

I am down to three boards at the moment:

9' Laguna Bay
8' 10" Coreban Platinum
7' 11' Fanatic Allwave

I bought them in that order as I got better. The Fanatic is my usual board.

Came across this on Twitter today.

My result

On a programme the other night the audience were asked if they had heard the saying, “taking coals to Newcastle”, a lot of hands went up, when asked to only keep their hand up if they were under thirty, all the hands came down.
My gran used to have a lot of sayings, I can’t remember most because it was a long time ago and they aren’t used today, not sure if it’s down to texting but we appear to be losing many olde words.

Clever, but I have spent so much time away it was difficult to remember the correct answers to some of them!

There is a disconnect between the past and on many different levels, it is intentioned social engineering and not good. The non writing tribes of the world such as the Abos of Aus never had disconnect even though the white man tried his best to engineer it.

Born and raised in Burnley but only lived there for 15yrs. So lived 10yrs Inverness, 5yrs Norwich and 30 yrs Aus. This language thing placed me between Manchester, Bolton and Blackburn. A lot of the words used in Scotland are also used in the North of England so a bit of crossover there. Interesting though.
