Does headering a ball cause dementia?
Reading Alan Shearer is worried he may develop dementia from heading footballs through the years, seemingly the modern ball is more heavier than the old tub, although the old lace ball became much heavier in the wet.
I remember Jeff Astle claimed something similar years back (whatever happened to Fantasy Football? Used to like watching that on the telly).
When I was young there was a report in the paper that heavy metal freaks would suffer brain damage from head banging, not sure about them losing their brain cells but some of the lads I knew have lost their long locks and are as bald as coot now.
I can see heading the ball being banned from schools soon, I don’t think they play Motörhead at school discos these days.
