Liam Cooper is captain, and Ayling is right-back ordinarily.

Yes those three at the back would be amazing.

Ayling is one smart cookie.
He declined to sign on and decided to leave to play regular football elsewhere.

I think there is another highly rated CB as well - Connolly? - who also decided to leave to paly regular football elsewhere.

How is Isaac Hayden doing with Newcastle?
Have he improved under Benitez?

Kyle Bartley was brilliant for Leeds last season.

Connolly played a massive part in QPR and Cardiff's promotion winning side, and also played a small role in Reading's promotion winning side, but QPR and Cardiff never really gave him a chance in the Premier League, and Reading didn't want to make his loan move permanent...

Hayden did really well last season for Newcastle and appears to be being given a chance this season, so I'll be interested to see how he does. I saw him have a great game against West Ham and then do well again against Swansea. He's very "all-action". To be honest I'd much rather see him in our squad than Elneny...

Well he has deputised as captain.
We say we need leaders he's a leader and was brought up on arsenal football he's already won a cup with the youth team, young, tough, chambers & holding are great for England d u21's too.
We need straight up defenders
Steve bould was aylings manager when they won the youth cup,
He wouldn't cost alot so that'll keep the board happy,
He's playing at Leeds elland road massive team he knows how to cope with pressure
He's better than Gabriel
Ideal replacement
He'll be at Utd or Chelsea in a few years if we don't get him
Watch him play.
