Part of the decline started when he was replaced by Clichy.

And allowed to leave for a measly 5k extra a week.

He's proved impossible to repalce.

Just one of the huge list of Wenger's monumental f.uck ups.

You could probably trace precise moment of the decline of Wenger back to the departure of Cole.

At the time I was annoyed because super rich clubs were a new thing and my view was that if players at least bit players in the PL behaved like Gerard and stayed put, rather than Cole, then the league would remain more competitive.

But looking back he could probably see what was coming and didnt like it.

I think there were some reports of the board ot approving the pay rise and he prolly thought getting gallas was the next best thing with sol on the decline

His goal at the end of a brilliant team move at Villa Park has to be amongst my favourite ever Arsenal goals.

Brilliant

Actually, both Dein and Wenger had already agreed to Cole's salary demand.

But it was the PHW and the Board that turned down the agreement due to the alleged repugnant behavior of his odious agent that demanded a cut and more.

Similarly, when Anelka was available in January 2008, again, he was never considered due to the odious and money-grabbing behavior of his agent, his brother.

Fabrgeas?
He was never going to return nor wanted by Arsenal due to his odious behavior at the last season with us ... just like what Alexis is doing now, being professional but no full-hearted commitment, epitomised by that back-pass to Barca inside a crowded box which no midfielder in his right mind will do. Wenegr said he will tell the Fabregas story when he is retired and writing his biography.

So many skeletons still rattling in Wenger's Cupboard.

All the players are greedy @#$%& just like any other business folks. Its stupid to expect loyalty.
The plan to use a british core less likely to move abroad and stay together was s good one except that it was a core made up of super average players
