None of the top 4 won yesterday and looking at the table would have to say that there is a possibility that this seasons champions could take the title with less than 90 pts. As ridiculous it may sound, 85/86 pts could even do it. Long old winter coming up and no one has taken hold of the season yet. Cant see anyone storming to over 90 pts at the moment.

Its still early days, someone could still run away with the title. Lets hope its us - as unlikely as it may seem.

A good win and already negativity creeping in, I'm ashamed with you HKR.

85 points? We will obviously finish with 108 points

Part timers will fade over the winter as the sheer weight of games takes its toll on their squads

I remember a little itsy bitsy team called Braintree maintaining their form and beating us to the play-offs. I wouldn't write anybody off just yet. In fact it would be patronising of us to do so. I agree with HKR though, teams at the top will continue to fluctuate and the champions points total does look like it will be lower this season. Thankfully for us it still appears wide open.

There are 13 teams between us and top spot who could all go on a run

Nothing is out of the question just yet and a couple of wins on the bounce in the league on the back of the last one and suddenly a playoff place could be achieved at that stage of the season and if the top spot was only 5-6 points away, suddenly anything could be possible.

Realistic, if we (as fans) start to expect to much it reflects in the huffs and puffs which are picked up on pitch. We should just be enjoying an up turn in form, some exciting players and hopefully more games like Saturday.

It will take us where it takes us. (Sm138)

It wouldn't necessarily have to be like that though, as if the team notched up 7 points from 3, lost a game then got another 7 from three, then it's 14 from a possible 21 or 66.66%. The way the league is right now, you could quickly gain on everyone else doing that sort of thing and even if you get 2 draws and 2 wins from 4, before losing a game, then do it again, as that's 16 out of 30, is just over 50%, so that could be enough right now to get them in or within a point or 2 of the playoffs

The team needs to at least get 7 points from 3 or 3 wins from 3 to create momentum and if they do beat Peterborough, then it's vital that has to transcend to the next match, or people would be saying something like, we make money from the second round game and the first round prize money to strengthen around Christmas time and we'll need to as we've conceded 1-3 points, to whoever would be top and the team in seventh and fallen further behind to them.

The football conference/national league went to a 24 team league in the 2006/2007 season..this is a list of the winners and the points they gained..

2006/2007 Dagenham 95
2007/2008 Aldershot 101
2008/2009 Burton Albion 88
2009/2010 Stevenage 99
2010/2011 Crawley 105
2011/2012 Fleetwood 103
2012/2013 Mansfield 95
2013/2014 Luton 101
2014/2015 Barnet 92
2015/2016 Cheltenham 101
2016/2017 Lincoln 99

So Burton Albion did it with the fewest points, 88 pts in 2008/2009.. Will this seasons champions go up with less than 88 pts? it could be on the cards?

PS, Burton lost 12 games that season. Also interesting to note that the leading scorer in the conference that season was andy mangan with 26 goals for FGR.
