Smoke is starting to rise. Danny Cowley apparantly had a meeting with Cook last week at the trafford Centre.
Is that not an illegal approach?
Maybe they were just chatting about what Christmas pressies they wanted, or which Church they'd be at for midnight mass?

See that Lincoln are now in 3rd place ( automatic promotion place ) in League 2.. Big acid test for the Imps today away to table topping and free scoring Luton Town.. having said that, Luton got stuffed 4-0 away at lowly Port Vale just 2 days ago.,, FGR rock bottom, snigger, snigger! lol.

As I support both Tranmere and Lincoln I hope Rovers win today and that City at least come away with a draw, but personally I think we will be lucky if we come away from Luton with anything today. But then again if you get a bit of luck we might be lucky and get a draw.

How many of our players does Cook want to argue with ON the pitch, not good.

Wirral 4adio saying Manganese to Oldham, and Dunn and McEverley been told to look for a new club.
Nothing mentioned about Cook, but today's argument with fellow players suggests all is not happy in the camp?

Cook missed a great chance at 4-1 which would have made things interesting when there were still 20 minutes to go.

Thought about this post during the game today. Cookie got a bit nasty with banks and it reminded me of him and Nors over the peno last year. He's a class player, but is he a bad egg? IMO don't wat him to go.

It could also be called passion in different circumstances. Some people said Norwood was wrong in the home Fylde game for berating DMH for wasting a situation, but I thought he was right to do so because he[JN] was in a far better position to attempt to score

Cook show's passion and a desire to win, I dont see anything wrong in that. If he is allowed to go it will be a bad move and would show a lack of ambition from the club.

There’s more to the whole situation than meets the eye though and I’m not talkin rumours. Just put yourself in Cooks shoes. If we don’t go up money will be tight, what deal if any will he be offered in the summer in that situation, if it’s one that makes him poorer he then thinks about moving on, he’s then in the pool of other released/out of contract strikers up and down Europe many with proven league pedigree, he’s only getting a NL contract in that scenario, will promotion hopefuls want him, possibly, possibly not. If a league club offering him a 2 or 3 year deal comes in during January it would be a pretty big gamble to reject it in the hope we go up, he’s then gambling we want him in League 2. It’s the same for all our players of any note, unfortunately we are in no position to keep people if a good offer comes in that suits the player, with what they earn and a whole life ahead after football I wouldn’t begrudge any of them moving on if a better offer came in.

I don't see showing passion as wrong but, if he is berating team mates constantly it sends the wrong message, particularly to the opposition.
We have all given team mates a mouthful of abuse at times (well I have!!!) but, this needs to be followed up with encouragement.

I can’t see Cook going anywhere. Lincoln have Rhead who scored 2 today, so unless he’s going somewhere, cook wouldn’t feature. Plus they can get him for free in 6 months.

I would imagine that they would sit him down and ask him if he intends to re-sign for us in the Summer and if not then depending how much is on the table in January, we may take the money?
From what I heard during the Summer, it was Palios that rejected the offers from Wrexham and Botts County because he rates Cook.
Unless there is a like for like contract on offer from Tranmere's, then Cook would be mad to stay at Prenton Park.
If we were serious about keeping him, then why have we not given him a new deal already?

Probably because we can't commit to players until we know what the financial situation is depending on what league we are in. I have been told that the players/staff were told if we don't go up this year there is no money available to keep them on the same terms.
