Will January be the defining month of our season? With 5 games of which 4 are away it is by far the most difficult group of fixtures ahead. For all that we are playing well out indifferent first quarter leaves us in a position where we cannot afford to drop further behind the automatic promotion candidate.
My guess is that we needs us to get at least 10 points to ensure the gap between the top does not widen and anything more is a bonus
If we come out of the month in good shape then automatic promotion is a real possibility. Otherwise it is atop cluster play off that is likely to be the most realistic aspiration/
Both are better prospects than looked possible after the first quarter

it will defo be a crunch month with the away games we have to play. noticed that AFC Fylde and Woking had players sent off today and we play those 2 sides very soon, so with those suspensions it might help us a little.

20th February 2018.. ROVERS V MACC at Prenton. I hope those at BT Sport have it on as a live game even with it being a midweek match.

That could help Tranmere to close on them if Ramsbottom or a possible loanee don't deliver, or destabilise their defense.

Good opening day would be 3 points for us (a tough ask, if I were MM I’d take a point and run now), a Woking victory and a draw at Sutton and Halifax.
