What are they thinking Ebbsfleet vs Bromley for the live TV game must have potential viewing stats of around 75 people.

Other fixtures today include ex league sides in action with more than 200 average fans as follows: Obvs us at Fylde with a travelling army of 1450 more of our guys travelling up the M-way than will be the gate at most other NL fixtures for home and away fans. Daggers v The Orient, Woking v Aldershot, Halifax v Mac, Wrexham v Barrow, Hartlepool v Gateshead. I won’t count Chester as they reformed.

But no they go with Bromley Ebbsfleet.

I get the distinct impression that the NL couldn’t be more anti the ex league sides such as ourselves, Orient, Daggers. More favouring the likes of FGR for success.

I agree Higgo, I try to watch as much as I can of the live BT games but I am sure not staying up for Ebbsfleet v Bromley tonight at such a late hour.. I watched Aldershot last saturday but BT are hopeless at showing top of the table clashes, Macc v Sutton was a real top of the table clash last Saturday and BT were no where in sight.

BT try to spread their coverage around rather than blindly following the big clubs, at least before the business end of the season. This is a traditional derby clash between two old Kent rivals so will draw a decent crowd but, yes, it won't appeal to many TV punters. But I suspect a significant factor in BT selecting this game is that it's on an artificial surface, so - unlike the fixtures mentioned in the opening post - was almost guaranteed not to be postponed when they chose it. Saying that, Maidstone v Dover is also on plastic and looks a more interesting game for the neutral.

I agree that they have to spread the coverage and be fair to most sides but I am pretty sure that last season one of BT sports live midweek NL matches was Solihull v Southport,,and that really does beg the question, 'Who the hell is gonna watch that?.. I didn't , lol.

Me neither! I suspect their viewing figures are pretty poor whoever they cover, unless it's a promotion clash towards the end of the season. Must admit I usually forget to watch their highlights show and rarely bother with the live games they show in our league.

Wouldn't some of the fixtures be prearranged in advance though, because if so how would anyone at BT sport know in July who was going to be in the top 3 places by October and plan a broadcast and a top of the table clash wouldn't necessarily live up to billing, if 2 teams had played once and were top 2, but one was a genuine contender and the other goes on to get 1-2 points from the next 4 games.

Some fixtures are obviously arranged during the season but some earlier ones are probably announced preseason and in a league where TV coverage occurs would it be right to say that in the second half of the season, any teams in the bottom half shouldn't e screened if they play each other?

Also there could be some moments exciting end to end stuff from 2 teams in the bottom 4 because they are scrapping for points, because the skill differential is not significantly different.

Then I ate his Liver.......... with some baked beans and a can of coke.

New Year's Day is a national holiday with so many young children and vulnerable kids perhaps being in front of the TV it would have been remit of Vanarama League Officials to show that horror show from Fylde yesterday.(Sm149)

Agree; it's a good job we all missed the pre-match horror episode in the away changing room, where the team were attacked by flesh eating zombies; that explains the missing hearts, guts and balls. Sickening if you ask me!

Not wishing to split hairs, but Bromley hasn't been part of Kent for over 50 years, now being The London Borough of Bromley and part of Greater London.
