This week, the football league has become a member of The Association of European Professional Football Leagues (EPFL)-making it the first non-top tier league to join the representative body of European leagues, which is quite an achievement, any way, to the football.
Hartlepool United have lost top striker Adam Boyd to Championship Club Luton Town for a fee of around £500,000 but some also believe the fee to be more around the £800,000 mark. Either way the club has made a lot of money on the player considering in January they were offered just £80,000 for the player.
New Swindon Manager Dennis Wise, cannot wait for the new season to start. He has been pleased with pre-season results, yet admits next Saturdays match against Hartlepool (who have been tipped for promotion) will be a different test all together. Also Wise has confirmed talks with former England and Wolves midfielder Paul Ince are under way and looking positive.
The “Boulding Brothers” have agreed to sign contracts at Mansfield Town. Both Rory and elder Brother Michael will be welcome characters to the club according to boss Peter Shirtliff.
On Monday night Macclesfield Town play Manchester United in a pre-season friendly, with world cup star Wayne Rooney expected to play. Sir Alex Ferguson said he is fed up with Rooney pestering him to play as he has not yet played a club game since breaking his metatarsal against Chelsea. This should attract more fans to the game.
Russell Martin has signed a new two-year contract at Wycombe, meanwhile Tommy Mooney is claiming both goals from the friendly against Watford from the game played on Wednesday evening.
Dean Keates returned to his former club Walsall in January from Lincoln City as his wife was expecting a baby. While he could not save them from relegation, he was made Club Captain, sources are thought that he may once again be leaving, but this is not official news, just gossip.

Wycombe have named striker Tommy Mooney as their new club captain.
Chester City have signed Spanish midfielder Roberto Martinez from Swansea on a two-year deal. The midfielder admits he did not want to leave Swansea but the transfer was out of his hands.
Bristol Rovers have completed the signing of former Millwall midfielder Sammy Igoe on a two-year contract. Igoe(30) had been training with the club after been released by the London club.
Lincoln City have announced that children can get into their league 2 opener against Notts County for just £1.
