Broomfield Stomp Prediction League 2012 - 2013

After running the idea of using the Prediction League to sponsor a player by a few of my friends it seemed to get a positive response. So I have created a PAYPAL account specifically for this.

After speaking to Airdrie FC i have received their support for the idea and it will cost £175, the player we receive will be announced once the full squad as been formed.

Although I will not be entering the competition myself, I will add £25 to the kitty, so in essence we need to get 30 people will to pay £5 for a chance to win a signed shirt at the end of season 2012-2013.

The Rules

1) To enter you must have paid £5 using the PayPal link below, I will not accept any other forms of payment. (If you give me £5 cash I will assume you owed me it and spend it on beer).

2) All payments must be made before Saturday 21st of July 2012, this gives me time to cancel the arrangement with the club should we not get enough entrants.

3) If you do not make your prediction before 3pm of a match day, or 7:45pm for a weekday match there is nothing I can do.

4) A list of competitors will be produced on the 22nd of July, if your name is not on that list then you have not paid your £5 and you will not be entitled to the prize.

5) Playoffs, league matches and cup games will count towards the final tally, friendly matches will not count towards the prediction league

6) All matches will be over 90minute regulation time, extra time and penalties will not count.

7) Any entry money left over and above the £175 will be used to buy additional prizes.

8) The prediction league cannot be locked to paid entrants only so anyone can take part but only those who have paid they £5 before the 21st of July 2012 will win any of the prizes.

I've been trying to come up with ideas to make it a little more interesting, the question is would you pay to win something club related?

What i was thinking about was The Stomp Prediction League sponsoring a player, a list of everyone who donates would be kept and the winner from them would get the sponsored players shirt at the end of the season. Any money left over would also be part of a prize fund.

For a non paying competition I have an idea for a prize and I have already had a prize donated that would be a runners up prize.

Your thoughts please especially from those who took part this season?

<> A very good idea. We had 40 plus entrants taking part this season. Supposing it was £5, or £10 to play then I think it's a def. goer - sponsoring a player helps the club/player and it continues to strengthen the links between the player/club and the fans.

Throw in the signed shirt as 1st prize and a couple of wee giveaways as 2nd & 3rd prizes (e.g. mug/scarf etc..) and you'll have the makings of a tidy competition.
