Prediction League Game 16, 17 & 18 catch up.

December 24 2017

Once again I'm playing catch up with the prediction league, three matches to review and update. Hopefully 2018 will be a little bit quieter for me and I'll be able to put a little more in to the site.

Airdrie 2 - 2 Raith Rovers :- Our first home meeting against one of the league challengers was held on a Sunday night and probably saw the lowest home attendance of the 2017 or maybe ever. A mixture of back room wranglings and a televised match on a cold December evening took it's toll.
Raith Rovers took the lead in the match after only 21 minutes through Grieg Smith but two minutes later Jake Hastie equalised for the Diamonds.
Airdrie then took the lead on 37 minutes through Cammy Russell and managed to hold on until the 90th when when Jonathan Court roke the Diamonds hearts to score a very late equaliser.
Queens Park 1 - 1 Airdrie :- If the Raith game was exciting then this game was anything but. Queens Park had the chance to take the lead when they were awarded a penalty after only 4 minutes, Rohan Ferguson however pulled of a great save to keep the score at 0-0. It was the Diamonds who would open the scoring a few minutes after the penalty save. Luke Watt made it 1-0 to Airdrie.
Airdrie weren't to get it our own way though when Queens Park equalised through Adam Cummings on 37 minutes and basically that was all she wrote, both teams huffed and puffed but neither team could score that winning goal.
Airdrie 2 - 0 Ayr United :- First off I would like to thank the Ayr fans for the atmosphere yesterday, it reminded me of how things could be, secondly I would like to thank the Airdrie team for metaphorically allowing us to stick the tamborine up thier supporter ar$e.
There was a time when a match against Ayr was simply a good away day then 15 years ago that changed so when Cammy Russell opened the scoring against the league leaders we celebrated. We celebrated even more when on the 25th minute David Brownlie made it 2-0. For the first time in an awful long time the Airdrie fans remembered how to celebrated even finding a voice for a song or three.
The funniest moment was watching Ian McCAll gesturing to his back room staff that on another day they could have scored five, only to watch Rohan Ferguson pull off another point blank save.
Airdrie 2 Ayr 0 thank you Santa.
Three games five point from a possible nine and unbeaten in December so far.

Liked your catch up reports but I think we played Raith on Sunday at 4.10? For once I predicted we would lose but boy am I delighted we won! Might need to revisit my Alloa etc predictions. Merry Xmas to all the table
