Can Emery Move Forward From Crab Football
It was the French Spine that spoilt Arsenal fans with “One-Touch One-Pass Breath-taking Football” that within four touches, went box to box, taking a shot at goal in less than 10 seconds. When teams stepped out at Highbury, they were not plotting how to get a result but how to keep the score down.
The Ins and Outs Loans and Groans of Arsenal Transfers
If David Ornstein’s tweets are to be believed then our soon-to-be-completed move for Uruguay’s Lucas Torreira could well be the last “first team” purchase we make this summer(eek!).
Is There A Defence For Unai Emery?
Arsenal have, so far, signed right-back Stephan Lichtsteiner, German goalkeeper Bernd Leno and Greek defender Sokratis Papastathopoulos. This may go a long way to address the problems of a defence that leaked 51 league goals last season.
Four Legs Good Three Legs Bad More Players On The Way
Usually this is called the end of the season event, and a series of filmed highlights are displayed on the big screen, but there were no highlights so we had a film of the coming season with new appointments, this included Freddy coaching under 23s. Now it’s called the New Season Event, take a bow marketing.
Son of Dion Comes To Rescue Of Arsenal Times
Arsenal Times recently put out an appeal for more articles from readers to help keep the site open, older readers promised a response but whilst they still dither it took a ten year old to respond immediately. The ten year old son of regular contributor Celine Dion (no not that one) was so concerned at ATs future that he put pen to paper, or fingers to keyboard, and wrote a cracking article about how he and his dad feel about next season. Its a good read and I know its how I feel so without further ado here it is below
Sweet Caroline My Arsenal The Changing Crowd
The playing of Sweet Caroline at the Emirates, and the near insurrection (according to an hysterical and hypocritical press) at West Ham, and the increase in the apathy of Football crowds reminds me of a US book on the subject. The book is broad based, but bear with me it does have relevance to modern sport and especially football.
Arsenal Break Club Record at Leicester Player Ratings
Really exciting, open, end to end game with a lot of chances. Unfortunately we aren't great, particularly defensively, and allowed Leicester to score some pretty cheap goals We currently have an identical away record to relegated West Brom. Only team in Europe's top five leagues and England's top four leagues not to win an away point in 2018. At the domestic level Jamie Vardy's second-half penalty was the 50th goal conceded by the Gunners in league play and have conceded more goals in 2017-18 than any other season in the club's Premier League history.
Arsenal Famous Five Player Ratings As Burnley Sporting Fans
I could write a lot about Arsene's last game ever at the Emirates, but most of it has been said, even if some of it is completely inaccurate. For example the Independent credited Arsene with the Remember Who You Are slogan, but then many Arsenal fans credit it to David Rocastle. In fact it was Bertie Mee who started it, but when legend becomes fact then print the legend.
Wenger Legacy Shambolic End Player Ratings Chambers MotM
Poor defending, and toothless attackers, with meandering midfielders saw Wenger lose his 250th game in Europe, and any hope of a European trophy die. The only top manager not to have won an European Trophy, even GG has one, well two if you include playing days. Sadly for AW his legacy will be a conference centre with adjacent football pitch, but not a big cup. Once again Costa mugged an Arsenal defence, oh for a player like him. I am told they are offering £1400 for a ticket for Sunday's game for the final farewell. Either those offering it are mad, or I am for not taking it. Hopefully someone will play The Last Post. Mavropanos MotM Ratings v Man U
I think most of us expected another 8-2 after we saw the teams but that could've been a lot, lot worse. We almost came away with a point against a much better side, and the youngsters who came in didn't look out of place. Really dead game though.
