Did Wenger Pay For CL and Carling Cup Wins? Out of Balance
Ex Players Love It at Ars

Arsenal fans entered the ground in a cheerful mood, they had just watched Chelsea on the stadium TV screens lose 1-0 at Oil Lands, surely the Gunners would now make up ground on the leaders. Sadly it was not to be, and the warning signs were there after only five minutes. In the first five minutes Arsenal spluttered yet Albion created two fine chances.
Arsenal did not stop spluttering until they were 3-0 down. All thoughts of catching the leaders had long deserted the crowd, indeed some of the crowd deserted. It is doubtful that the Gunners’ spirited attempt to score consolation goals gave them any cause to regret their early departure.
Arsenal were not the only team to lose unexpectedly, so did Tottenham and Chelsea, and they all had played four games in ten days including the Carling Cup and CL. Arsenal fans were pleasantly surprised at the strength of the team put out against Spurs and loved the end result.
However, the problem with that was that players like Wilshere had played three games in a week. If Wilshere had started against WBA that would have been his fourth game in 10 days, that’s not on for an 18 year old.
Wenger has to take responsibility
WBA were well worth their victory and there can be no complaints, but this was a disjointed and out of sorts Arsenal team, one of the poorest performances I have seen in a very long time. Arsenal did not start to play until 15 minutes from time.
For over 70 minutes the team was poor and lacking mobility, no doubt many will want to blame the defence and the keeper, and they are not without blame. However, football is a team game and defence starts at the front. Chamakh made no impact at all – why? Because no one linked up with him. Song, Diaby and Eboue were the wrong mix of midfielders, ponderous and predictable they made no impact. They constantly lost the ball putting pressure on the defence. In the first half Albion made the best chances.
Nasri had a good game and scored two goals, but he rarely managed to bring other players into the game, Arshavin’s corners failed again and again to beat the first man. There was no width, no pressing, no movement no guile, no playmakers. It was static and turgid, and it didn’t change until Wilshere and Rosicky came on.
Wenger’s vision gets worse
Arsene said he didn’t recognise the team; well he should have as he picked it, and it was completely disorganised. With another CL game on Tuesday he may have had little choice, if that is the case I am afraid it proves that his squad is not strong enough.
Without Fabregas, with Wilshere resting, and Diaby rusty, the mid field was laughable. With the engine room out of action Arsenal drifted out of control an accident waiting to happen. WBA were far more organised, efficient and ruthless in front of goal, they deserved to win.
Meanwhile two of Arsene’s “world class keepers” have had a very unhappy week, but never mind just check that balance sheet and smile.

But..

An 18 year old should be able to play 3 games in 10 days, he didn't look tired when he came on, and could of been taken off with the result taken care of.
But that is assuming he would of even made a difference. Out of our keeper, the back four, and the 2 "protecting" midfielders, the only first team player missing was Vermaelen. The rest are meant to be the creme de la creme of the first team defensive unit. So what are we going to be like when even more of them get injured? The defense is not up to scratch and if conceding 2 at home to celtic, or 5 against Legia wasn't enough evidence, then maybe the fact we haven't kept a clean sheet away from home since January could of given a better indicator.
The whole team, formation, ambition, depth, and quality of the squad is not up to scratch and that is why I predicted us to finish 5th. 4 points off 13th placed blackpool suggests it isn't beyond the realms of possiblity, and there's me being a pessimist, but this certainly isn't the club going forward, and it certainly isn't the club being able to challenge for a meaningful trophy.
I wasn't too suprised when I saw how strong the Carling Cup team was, Wenger wants a trophy, and he knows this is the only way he will be getting one.
Interesting that the 4 CL clubs got one point between them for the whole weekend

They usually started to gell in December and accelerate away from the PAck in December.
Arsenal?
SIgns are not good that finally they have a squad to banish November Blip from memory.
Th fault lies in Wenger, not for buying player, simply he got his tactic wrong again by fielding the wrong player.
And simply too stubborn or deluded to repalce Eboue or DIaby or SOng immediately after 30 minutes as a kick up the butt for hsi non-performing team.
Has SOng's Ego inflated and gone swollen headed?
WHy wasn't he "disciplined" immeidately for playing out of position too high-up on the pitch with WBA breaking fast BEHIND him all the time?
Back-4 and goalie were left out to hang with no protectionw hatsoever from MDIFIELD.
One vivid incident occurred late in the game.
F**king midfielders were attempting to pass out of defence in our box with Nasri atempting to bring the ball out of the box..was tackled 2 meters out of box..WBA won the ball and promptly put the Defence udner pressure once more.
Midfield keeps losing the balls again and again in dangerous position, and inept passing keep feeding WBA to perform their relentless fast-break with EBoue, DIaby, SOng & CO keep chaisng after WBA fast-breaking players.
Nothing wrong with playing 4 game sin 10 days.
SImply Arsenal players did nto shown up with a stomach to fight on the pitch.
Just another dya in the office to collect tehri 50,000 pw salary..thank you.
F**King bunch of French poodles.
Now West Brom at home? I would have put my mortgage on if I had one, if we keep dropping points when they drop points then when do we make the points up?
Chelsea is a must win, but I can't see anything other than a heavy defeat if were not at our best.
RVP and Fab collisions going for the ball. Ramsey bad tackle.
The only link I can see is lousy tackles and accidents.
