Arsenal have had two very good away results back to back away from home, and Arsenal fans, including this one, have to concede that Fabianski was key to both victories. So he has cost us two points and possibly won us six points, if he does that consistently then he will be Arsenal’s no 1.To make it an even more brilliant weekend Chelsea and Manchester United both lost points. Chelsea losing 3-0 to Sunderland, it’s an Arsy Versy World. Arsenal are only two points from the top.
Do it at home
However let’s not get carried away unless Arsenal can produce this form at home as well as away, it will have all been a waste of time, this team has to prove it can be consistent. It’s been a great week, but let’s not forget it started with the misery of the Newcastle game, a game they should have won. If the Gunners had won it they would be top of the league.
Let’s hope that the last two games have shown that the team has learnt a lesson at last, that hard work and guts is the key to winning matches. In the past they have proved to have the memory of a gold fish, bounce back and then lose to another newly promoted team.
Fortress Emirates and consistency will be the key to winning the league. Is this team capable of that? We will not know until May 2011, there are no prizes in November.
Touch of steel
What has been good about the last two victories is the touch of steel the team is now showing, not only is it not being bullied, but its prepared to stand up for itself. Don’t worry about the disciplinary record, the further we moved up the fair play league the more games we lost. Now as we prop it up from the bottom we are getting the results.
Dixon admits MOTD wrong
There is no need to make apologies for MOTD, all credit to Lee Dixon who admitted on Football Focus that they had been wrong to show only Fabregas’s foul at Wolves, and not Karl Henry’s. The BBC claim to be so balanced that they postponed Have I Got News For You on election night. Lee said they didn’t have time to show both, ok in the pursuit of balanceshow neither.

On what basis SHOULD we have won Newcastle game? On paper prior to the game, maybe, but not on the actual display. The only regret we can have so far this season is the 2 points dropped at Sun'land in the last minute. The 2 home defeats were deserved.

it seems we are up for our away games but are totally poor for our home games.... like i've said, we are suffering for a horrible split personality disorder so i guess the wrong Arsenal turns up for the home games... hope we can stuff them spurs..it will make my november perfect no matter what the table says by december
this being November i am really pleased with this win if we can show this fight for all our games who knows... will air on part of caution...

no..we wouldn't because if you change our result then you also have to change other teams results to suit them also..so we would still be behind Chelsea
and us losing those home games may just be the motivation the lads needed..(wenger included)
our tactics have changed..the lads are throwing themselves into tackles and blocking shots..Fabianski is coming into his own
the title is anyone's this year..and we have just as much chance as anyone else to win it this year...no more easy games in the premier league..best in the world hands down

really this season is very open ....it's up to the team that is most consistent, has a better defensive record and takes care of their home games..

Are one or two people being literal here about use of should? A team that wants to win the league should win its games at home, and certainly not lose them.
Did they deserve to beat Newcastle or WBA, of course not, thats not would should means on this ocassion..

do you get more points for winning at home, no, so a win away is just as valuable as a home win, why get so hung up over how we got our points and just be glad that we are only two points off the top having lost three games.
In my humble opinion a big part of the problem with home form is the home fans, our away support get behind the team all the time and give them a real boost, but almost never such support at home, its as if our home support need the team to spark them into life, while our away support help spark the team. I'm not getting caught up in wordplay padre..you can change the word 'should' or meaning to anything you want..you said 'If the gunners would ave won it we would be on top of the league'
I was merely pointing out that is an incorrect statement to make..since you are neglecting to remember that everyone else results would have to change also

Why would everyone elses score be different? We won today so why didnt Chavs and man U maximise pints then? All things being equal we could have six more points, but thats not the main or only point is it?

They have to changes simply because you are using a hypothetical situation whereas we win a game we've lost..hence the extra points..
but wouldn't by that very same thought process Chelsea gets to take away their loss to Sunderland at home and get the three points..therefore still keeping the table the way it is
woulda, coulda, shoulda's never make sense
Everyone is having tough games this year..home and away...the league is far more difficult than before..but to your other point, like I said the losses might just have been the motivation the lads needed

It doesn't matter if we win home or away but we now know Newcastle away and West Brom away will be tough games we need to win, if we win at home, going there would be less of a massive task, 3 points the least from every team is what we should be aiming for.

Very true, 6 points off city and Everton would be massive but 1 point or less off Brom and Newcastle would be a disaster.

well, I would argue we are doing not as well as Chelsea but better than everybody else.

I would agree if they were more than 2pts ahead of us and we were more than a few points ahead of everyone else...or if it was near the end of the season

ManLeeds can go unbeaten as they usually pick up a head of steam in December.

What is 30-mil to 40-mil spent in January compare to returns of 80-mil or more due to successes ont eh pitch which lead to more merchandise sales, more commercial deals and more sponsorships?
Thsi kind of enterprenuarial flair and risk maangement will always be overlooked by conservative bankers at Arsenal Holdings who plug for a steady return of 10% without untowards risk-taking to earn windfall profits or 30% or more returns.
And why American capitlaism will always beat British financial conservatism hands down.
Look at Ferguson's track record.
Did you ever see this ruthless winner ever allow his team to flag during December and latter part of the season?
