Barnsley sign striker Ben Hamed Touré

The 23-year-old Ivorian joins on a three-year deal from the French second tier side, with a club option to extend by a further year. 

Touré made his professional debut in Ligue 1 with Ajaccio and has made over 100 senior appearances for Ajaccio and most recently FC Annecy. 

The 6 foot one forward has scored 10 goals in 87 Ligue 2 games and is said to have a great off-the-ball work rate. 

According to Barnsley Chronicle, the fee is understood to be half a million Euros. 

Touré said: “Ever since I was little, I've always dreamed of coming to England and playing in England — it's always been a dream of mine. The manager's style of play really excited me, and that's what convinced me to make this move. 

"I'm a striker who likes to run in behind and I never stop working - that's part of my game, and I don't think it will take me long to adapt to how the team plays. I know I'm the first Ivorian player to play for this club, and that makes me really proud. I'm very happy to be here and can't wait to get started."
