Two Goal Joey

If you thoiught the victory over Guangzhou Pharmaceutical's was easy last Wednesday, the slaughter of Chengdu Blades in Macau on Saturday was even easier. In the build-up to the game, Chelsea legend Tommy Langley said that he had received a phone-call from 'someone in the know,' who told him that The Blades would be a far tougher opposition and a sterner test for Chelsea.
With the exception of the first few minutes, the game was a massacre. Chelsea cut through the Blades defence at will and could have scored 10, 12 or 15. At half-time Chelsea were 3-0 up with goals from Anelka, Kalou and Super Frank. Even with five changes made at half-time and with the introduction of Joe Cole who scored his first of two goals within seconds of arriving on the pitch, Chelsea were rampant. Chelsea's other three goals came from a Di Santo close range blaster after a comedic attempt to clear, Shaunie scored with his shoulder after Malouda attempted a cross-shot that deflected off a defender then hit Shaunie before looping over the goalkeeper into the back of the net. Goal of the game, was undoubtedly Joey's 2nd and Chelsea's sixth. Joey back-flicked a cross inside the six yard area from Chelsea's right and that is all you can say about it. It's a shame that Jose Bosingwa's tour has been cut short by injury. He has flown back for treatment at Cobham, but Jose's bad luck is Scott Sinclair's good fortune as he has flown out to join the touring party. On Tuesday 29th July Chelsea play a Malaysia Select XI in a game that kicks-off at 13.45pm UK time. There WILL be LIVE coverage on the board from 1.15pm.
