Stoke City 1-2 Chelsea: The Mother of All Ironies!

Poor old Stoke. They have their king of the long-throws with Rory Delap but it was our 'secret weapon' in Juliano Belletti whose long throw dropped at the feet of Essien who played a short pass into Anelka who returned to Malouda who fired in a low shot to give Chelsea a deserved late, late win at The Britannia Stadium yesterday.
Poor old Stoke. Losing James Beattie early on and then Thomas Sorensen later on in first half and in the added minutes of eight at the end of the first-half, Didier powerfully equalised for Chelsea after a sweet through ball from Super Frank played him in.
Poor old Stoke: Unable to take their chances namely Beattie shooting wide before getting injured, Kitson with a close-range header and Huth heading over from a corner.
Poor old Stoke. In the ascendency after Petr Cech's inexplicable howler when he started to come for a cross, then he stopped, stayed rooted to the spot like a startled rabbitt staring into the glare of an approaching car headlights, and watched Faye's header sail past him into an empty net.
Poor old Stoke. Defended like gladiators for the best part of the game. Bodies, legs and heads getting in blocks and keeping a dominant Chelsea at bay until Malouda's late low shot beat the outstretched arm of substitute 'keeper Steve Simonsen to send the travelling Blues into a state of high delirum.

Drogba´s goal was a truly venemous shot wasn´t it?! Great finish and it will be interesting to see how we get on without him on Tuesday....I bet Sturridge is itching for some time on the pitch.
We totally dominated the 2nd half and although we didn´t get in front until the end of the game we DESERVED the result.
