Chelsea 1-0 Man Utd: The Rub of the Green Turns Rough on Utd

Its about time the green turned rough on Utd after all the luck they have had so far this season and in season's past. The famous rub this season was the SEVEN minutes added injury time when Owen scored that winner. Yesterday at The Bridge, Sir Alex was raving at the ref after Chelsea went FIVE points clear at the top of the Premiership.

Shame Sir Alex or his assistant Mike Phelan didn't come out and admit that Jonny Evans' kung-fu kick on Didier was horrific.

Evans caught Drogba just under his neck and at the top of his chest, which is how high Evans' boot was. Bruce Lee eat your heart out.

At first I thought Didier landed awkwardly after what looked like a clumsy challenge and to add insult to injury, Martin Atkinson booked Didier!!!

The game itself wasn't great. Lots of passion though, fiesty tackles which you would expect, but the game lacked any cohesive patterns.

The atmosphere was cracking, the best this season. Once the minute silence was complete, the noise was electric to the final whistle.

Who scored Chelsea's goal? Who knows? Who cares!! The argument is between JT and Anelka so we will let them sort it out. JT has said he thinks Anelka got the last touch before the ball passed Van Der Saar down to his left-hand side.

Boss 'Anco' was diplomatic in his assessment of the afternoon events. He said, "It is important, because this means we started the season very well, and we know that the season is very long, we have to stay focused for the next matches and today beat a very good team.

"After 25 minutes in the second half we changed the positions of Essien and Ballack, with Ballack in the centre. Manchester put strong pressure on with Fletcher, Carrick and Anderson in the midfield, and they did a good job, because it was difficult to play in the midfield in this game.

"It is difficult to beat Manchester, it was balance over 90 minutes and difficult to score. We won on a set play, sometimes we lost on the set plays and today we won from this situation which is important."

Ashley Cole withdrew from the England squad for the 'jolly' in the desert on Saturday against Brazil, due to a depressed facture of the tibia, sustained during the Champions League game with Atletico on Tuesday. He played yesterday with pain-killing injections.

Chelsea: Cech, Ivanovic, Carvalho, Terry (c), A Cole, Essien, Ballack, Lampard, Deco (J Cole 63), Anelka (Alex 90+3), Drogba (Kalou 82)

Goal: Terry 78
Booked: Ivanovic 57, Drogba 74, Carvalho 81

Man Utd: Van Der Saar, O'Shea, Brown, Evans, Evra, Fletcher, Carrick, Anderson (Owen 84), Valencia, Rooney, Giggs (c) (Oberfan 84)

Booked: Rooney 76, Evans 81, Valencia 87

Quite right - it's about time Utd's luck turned. Just wish my luck would have been better and my punt had come off grinning smiley If anyone else had a cheeky punt on this game then check out this article from the Right2Bet campaign website - [bit.ly] - it's an analysis of how much money you could have lost even if you WON your bet, because of EU law stopping people getting the best odds on sports betting... sign the Right2Bet petition if you've been burned by this too!

This clip puts Johnney (The Jedi) Evans to shame.
