Simply stunning display of football yesterday at a rain-soaked Stamford Bridge as Chelsea went on a goal spree to remain top of the Premiership. This without Dids, Mikel, Kalou and Essien and who said Chelsea would struggle without them. Thats two games played since they have been away and Chelsea have rattled in TWELVE goals.
Boss 'Anco' described the performance as the best Chelsea have played all season and in his programme notes skipper John Terry said, "When we move the ball quickly there's not a team that can touch us."

They were both right. Chelsea were untouchable and Sunderland just couldn't cope with Chelsea's slick passing and movement. The only downside to the game was Sunderland scoring twice in the second-half, when both Ashley Cole and JT were absent after being substituted at half-time.
For me, we need a leader in the defence when JT isn't there, unfortunately there isn't anyone at the moment that can take up that challenge.
The goal glut started in the 8th minute when Anelka broke free and slid the ball home. Twenty-six minutes later Chelsea were four up after Ashley Cole, (much maligned) Malouda and Super Frank got their rewards for an exceptional performance.

Anelka, Ballack and Super Frank added the fifth, sixth and seventh in the second-half and Zenden and Darren Bent scored their consolations for The Ragged Black Cats.
Sunderland's 'keeper Fulop, despite conceding seven, pulled off a stunning flying save from an Anelka shot from 35 yards, tipping the ball onto the angle of the post and crossbar. The ball bounced down and was cleared away.

True, Sunderland did have a lot of players out - nevertheless, 7-2 is empthatic.
Ashley Cole´s goal must be a contender for goal of the month.
