Burnley 1-2 Chelsea: Pedestrian Blues Nearly Throw it Away

Chelsea prevailed where ManUre and Goonerville failed at 'Moor on Saturday evening, courtesy of a late headed winner by under-fire Captain John Terry. After the hours he had endured in the build-up to the game and the sensational headlines, it was ironic that JT would stamp his mark on the game and score the winner and I had a feeling his involvement would be emphatic.
I am not going to say too much on a subject that has already had millions of words written except that I am extremely disappointed that the good name of my beloved Chelsea Football Club has been dragged through the gutter through no fault of their own.
I am extremely disappointed that OUR Captain has allowed himself to get into such a situation knowing that his behaviour could be discovered, which it has, causing a media and press frenzy turning faster than a wurlitzer ride at a fairground.
I know it takes two to tango and JT shouldn't have to take ALL of blame, but with his high profile, earnings and responsibilities to lead as a role model, JT should have known better and basically kept his pants on!
However, for as long as JT continues to wear the blue shirt, the armband and performs like he does week in and week out, he has my full support and no doubt he has the full support of Chelsea fans worldwide.
As for the game. The atmosphere was electric but it took Burnley an awful long time to get going especially as I expected them to go at Chelsea's throats from the first whistle.
Chelsea took the lead through Anelka, who tapped home from close-range after Malouda had pulled the back across the area.
Burnley equalised after Alex got himself in a mess trying to clear and Fletcher with neat control blasted home and celebrated like a demented demon. This should have been the catalyst for Burnley to step on the gas further, especially with their impressive home record, and try to press home their advantage.
But the advantage didn't materialise and Burnley looked content to try and keep the point they though they had.
Chelsea on the other hand either by luck or judgement cruised through the game in an extreme pedestrian like manner which was quite worrying at times, but three points on not a very good day and performance is the hallmark of potential champions.
Then came the JT header.........

Burnley are a good side, they work hard for each other and can pass the ball around quite nicely - they also got good results against the Mancs and Arsenal there so it does put our performance into perspective.
The all important 3 points - so on to Hull!
