Liverpool 0-2 Chelsea: Cheers Stevie for Giving us a Start

It took thirty minutes, but once Stevie Gerrard put Didier through on goal, the result was never in doubt. Had Aquilani's screamer gone in instead of clipping the bar in the early minutes, we could have been talking about a different game, despite the fact that The Kop just weren't interested in roaring their team to victory.

Super Frank sealed it in the second-half with a close-range slide-in, right in front of the packed Blue faithful, who then conjured up the best song of the season, "We Saved Your History."

Great for silencing an already silent Kop but NOT quite effective in its simplicity because Man Utd kept on our coat-tails with a hard-fought 1-0 victory at The Stadium of Light which means for the first-time in a number of years, the title race goes down to the last day.

Next Sunday its Chelsea v Wigan, Man Utd v Stoke.

Not counting any chickens before they hatch IF Chelsea match or better Utd's result then The Blues will be CHAMPIONS.

I apologise if my pessimistic hat is on but I clearly remember two years ago, Wigan severely denting our title hopes with a 90th minute Emile Heskey equaliser and earlier on this season we got well and truly 'stuffed' in the DW Stadium.

Well and truly 'stuffed' because we had won our first six games.

Chelsea love to break records and create new ones.

Yesterday at Anfield, Chelsea became the first team in  Premier League history to take maximum points from the three other clubs in the so-called 'top four.'

Doubles over Arsenal, Man Utd and yesterday Liverpool, with only one goal conceded in six games, deserves a title winning day (Ed.... DUCK!!) and Chelsea have had the 'harder' of the run-ins.

Credit and praise has to be thrown at the players, the management and of course US the fans (again magnificent away support) for the wonderful run of seven wins from eight games since the Corrupt Cup exit against Inter and the disappointing draw at Blackburn that could have been so demoralising causing the rest of our season to go t*ts up.

Instead, Chelsea are two games away from a historic double,  an acheivement so sweet even I cannot get my head around the thought.
