Double Winners 1-0 Portsmouth: Kings of England

A first double, League and Cup, WAS eventually won at Wembley yesterday after an incredible first-half where the DOUBLE winners hit the woodwork FIVE times through Didier (twice), Super Frank, JT and from four yards out, with the goal gaping as wide as the mouth of the Thames Estuary, Salomon Kalou. Incredible, wonderful and brilliant!!

When Portsmouth got their penalty after Juliano Belletti felled Dindane with no-where to go, I began to think of those Pompey fans waving loads of dosh around with the average 12/1 on offer for a shock victory.

Obviously Kevin Prince-Boateng, who almost snapped Ballack's leg in half with a late crude challenge in the first-half, didn't take the bet because his poor scuffed penalty was easily saved by the long legs of Cechie boy, who became the third goalkeeper in Wembley history to save a penalty.

Double2

Super Frank had the chance to increase the DOUBLE winners lead minutes from time, but even he lost a little composure by hitting his chance wide of David James' right hand post.

Three minutes after Boateng's penalty miss, Didier lined up angled free-kick and this time his wonderful strike went in, and you guessed it, off the post making it SIX times the ball hit Pompey's woodwork.

The boss 'Anco,' conceded that Pompey's penalty miss turned the game, despite the amazing events of the first-half.

He said, "We have to celebrate this together I think because everyone put something for winning this Double.

"I did not have a lot of problems this year with my job, always I could count on the support of my club, my owner, my players. This is not so difficult to manage.

"This is a fantastic victory for me, I am very happy in my first time here in England. I am lucky I had a very good career with fantastic clubs and this year I was happy to work in a fantastic club with a fantastic atmosphere. Everybody did a fantastic job and I thank everyone that worked with me this year."

Double3

The 'boss' continued saying, "It was strange to hit five posts in one half, very strange, and to concede a penalty. That was the key moment because if Portsmouth went 1-0 up it was more difficult for us, but Cech saved the penalty and we scored with Drogba.

"It never happened in my career to hit five posts in one half. But we had to stay focused at the end of the first-half and in the second to maintain control, try to attack and try to score.

"It was more difficult in the second-half because we didn't start well and conceded lots of fouls, the match was not in control at the start of the second-half."
