Chelsea 2-0 Stoke City: Glowing Tributes for Sam

In Saturday's matchday programme both Carlo Ancelotti and John Terry paid glowing tributes to Sam Hutchinson, who, earlier in the week was forced to retire from professional football because of a crippling knee injury. Sam will be staying at Chelsea working with the Academy and studying Sport Sciences at University.
Captain John Terry said, "Hutch had to retire just over a week ago and we were all absolutely gutted for him, and for Chelsea, because he had the ability to go all the way with this club.
"He came in for a Carling Cup game against QPR last season and he was the best player on the pitch at centre-back.
"Then he came on as a sub later at right-back against Stoke and put in a perfect cross for Lampsey to score.
"He's obviously devastated about it - but he's got a future at Chelsea in some capacity because he knows the game and he loves the club.
"He's been here since he was eight, so when he coaches and talks to the kids in the Academy, they'll be able to relate to him.
"Sam will be top quality in whatever he does within football, you can just see that in him."
The Boss 'Anco' said, "Sam is a very strong character and he was a wonderful footballer.
"We want to continue to benefit from his personality and his love of the game and we have plans with him to continue working in some capacity with us.
"He is understandably very disappointed, but I know he can respond and continue to work within the game that he has a natural understanding of."
Super Frank missed his third consecutive penalty.
Malouda opened the scoring after a wonderful through ball from the skipper and Didier sealed the win with a penalty after Sorensen had bundled Anelka over in the second-half.
Glenn Whelan hit the bar with a stunning strike after dispossessing Mikel and in the first-half Ashley Cole also hit the bar with a volley on the turn.
