So ten years of mainly treading water in the second tier of English football comes to a dismal, sorry end, with barely a decent charge towards gaining promotion back to the Premiership in that time.

Relegation, while hard to take, would have been less painful had a certain amount of effort been shown in certain matches though. Were the gutless, clueless, pedestrian displays against Bristol City and Doncaster really as good as those selected could manage? I don't think so.

And this coming after false hope had been raised for a few fleeting moments with a brief climb out of the bottom three. The reality is our fate was sealed months ago and the writing has been on the wall for almost the entire season.

SISU (Still) seem to be shouldering most of the blame, but the reality is this was a collective (Lack of) effort all round, except for the top quality, die-hard supporters, who have continued to pay out their hard-earned money, and who deserve so much better - and have for decades now.

A massive amount of blame has to lie at Andy Thorn's door. People keep bleating on about his 'hands being tied', and 'he can only work with what he's got', but, to quote Kevin Keegan (Possibly quoting somebody else!): 'You can't turn a donkey into a race horse, but you can make a faster donkey'.

He also gave Sammy 'Sideways' Clingan the captain's armband....

Thorn has stated he wants anybody without a winning mentality out of the club (With fans wanting said players to join Leicester!), though I'm not overly convinced he shouldn't be on that list himself!

His decision to keep so many players back for the last five minutes against Millwall, when our Championship place was disappearing off into the sunset, baffled many for a start. It suggested he doesn't have an 'I know how to win' mentality anyway.

Thorn has also stated: 'the lads we've got now know what they need to do' - maybe he should have checked that before the last season started? Here's hoping if we still have a club, and AT is still here in August when life in Division 3 starts, he enquires before a ball has been kicked next time?

People are realising Steve Harrison is one of very few constants over recent dismal seasons, and I struggle to believe we would be much worse off if he were to leave the club and be replaced. It's probably worth trying!

The rent our beloved council is charging is also killing the club (And far higher than some (All?) of our now ex-rivals), and, while I doubt it will have any impact, I hope the current FaceBook campaign to get the yearly fee reduced is successful.

SISU have stated we needed an attendance above what the club were getting at Highfield Road, in a lower division, with a lesser quality of player, to merely break-even, and that was never going to happen.

Here's hoping the break-even figure is far lower next season, running costs are reduced, without leaving a squad incapable of giving supporters a season worth watching. Here's also hoping not to many Sky Blues fans turn their back on the club, as they're really all Coventry City has going for it at the moment.

Still think Clingan was the best in the team.he wont have a prob getting a team.all I can say is good luck Sammy where ever u go

Clingan was garbage for Coventry City. He is the player that should have made the team play, and he was dismal. He's supposed to be a set-piece expert, what rubbish. Good riddance to him.

best of luck next season. CCFC always had good young players and should be the way forward to move back up the FL.
