Phil Brown Favourite For Coventry City Job

With Sunday's dismal collapse showing Coventry City need to appoint a new manager sooner rather than later, interviews for the luke-warm seat have apparently started taking place, with Phil Brown one of those hoping to fill Andy Thorn's boots.

Some of the short-list of nine candidates - possibly eight after Richard Shaw showed he probably wasn't the man for the job over the last three fixtures (And whose odds are currently between 12/1 and 20/1) - have apparently already identified that the squad lacks pace, which makes them better than any of the last few managers already.

Phil Brown, Chris Wilder, Steve Staunton, and Richard Money, have all been the next man in according to the betting odds, with the last person seen in the vicinity of the Ricoh favourite for the job. Those in charge of making such a decision seemingly having the bookies on the run!

The latest betting odds are: Brown 5/6 (To highest odds 7/4), Money 3/1 (To 11/4), Wilder 11/4 (To 6/1), Staunton 3/1 (To 6/1), Terry Connor 4/1 (To 12/1), and (Seemingly) a lot of fans favourite, Dennis Wise, at 11/2 (To 10/1).

My guess is SISU will interview a 66/1 shot, and, having put substantial amounts of money on said person with the bookies, will give him the job (Said list at 66/1 currently includes: Gary MacAllister, Eric Black, Gordon Strachan, Noel Whelan and Lee Carsley), and enable them to reduce the debt which is crippling the club. That and players that clearly don't care.

*Phil Brown's odds have reduced to 1/4, Richard Money between 4/1 and 6/1, and Chris Wilder between 9/2 and 8/1, and Dennis Wise between 7/1 and 12/1.

from experience as a Leeds fan, best to stay clear of Wise or Staunton. Terry connor might be worth a shout. Phil Brown could be the best guy to get ye back into the championship.
best of luck with finding the right guy !

I think we got the right person mate! As for the others, Wise might have been okay - he certainly came as close to attaining legendary status as anybody for Coventry City in the last ten years in his short stint as a player with us! I think he's another that would not put up with the garbage the current squad are serving up. Robins certainly isn't!
