Coventry Improve Squad....

....by getting rid of a player.

Roy O'Donovan has had his contract with Coventry City cancelled. The news has been greeted with the sound of car-horns beeping, and fire-crackers going off in the streets around the Ricoh.

O'Donovan's career strike rate of 0.13 goals a game - only boosted by a decent spell at Hartlepool (15 games, nine goals) - was way down there with the list of 'not so good' (Being polite!) strikers to have stopped off at Coventry City.

In his second spell with the club, he made 10 starts for Coventry City, plus 14 as a substitute, scoring one goal (A goal that one Sky Blues fan claimed netted him £50 - I can only presume he bet fifty pence on Not-So-Hot-Rod to actually manage to score for the club at anytime, at odds of 200/1).

Whether or not a replacement is coming in is yet to be seen, but O'Donovan's goal-scoring prowess in a Sky Blue shirt (Or various away kits) won't be missed.
