Coventry City : Those Who Have Left
August 4 2017
The new season is almost upon us, and there's almost a sense of optimism amongst some Coventry City fans. Some. Most of us by now know optimism only leads to disappointment....
The defence has been improved by the loaning out of Jordan Turnbull, who, despite being a major reason for Coventry City's relegation, seemingly deems himself too good for League Two. Disappointingly, Cian Harries, who could have replaced the afore-mentioned Turnbull, has departed for Swansea, rumoured to be for a nominal fee (With some claiming this was to cover court costs).
Motherwell have hijacked half of our potential midfield, taking Bigirimana and Andy Rose (Who at times seemed to be made of glass). The former will be remembered for his Checkatrade Trophy Final goal, the latter for a thunderbolt once scored seventeen seconds after coming on as a substitute. Rose was a typical Coventry City signing in that he promised a fair bit, but didn't deliver....
The light-weight Ruben Lameiras has also departed, for Plymouth, where he will know doubt excel, and within three years will probably replace Neymar at PSG*. Vladimir Gadzhev has also departed, though it's doubtful anybody will notice.
So far, no Premier League side has snapped up Kyel Reid, but it can only be a matter of time (PSG's interest is rumoured to have 'cooled' after opting to sign Neymar instead). George Thomas is interesting Leicester, though there are rumours he wants to stay at the club, but is being encouraged not to (Merely passing on info - don't shoot the messenger). As a consequence of not signing the contract offered, he has missed pre-season.
Nathan Clarke, Kevin Foley (Dropped down to non-league), Jack Finch, and Kyle Spence have also left, as has the opinion splitting Marcus Tudgay. I somehow doubt many will be missed.
*Probably not.pqs: qs:
