Bell apologises for display against Chesterfield
Crewe midfielder Lee Bell has apologised following an angry confrontation with one particularly disgruntled Alex fan after the full time whistle was blown against the Spireites.
Crewe led 4-1 at the B2net Stadium but capitulated to eventually draw 5-5 leaving the Crewe faithful scratching their heads.
Whilst applauding the fans efforts Bell became involved in an angry exchange with one supporter but has since admitted that the team’s performance deserved the criticism they received.
Speaking to BBC Radio Stoke, Bell said: “The fans were great but I've had a bit of a ding-dong with one of them at the end so I apologise for that. It was just a bit of frustration from me and frustration from them which I can totally understand”
Bell then apologised for the team’s display: "The fans pay good money to come to the stadium to see grown men just capitulate and we apologise for that. They were fantastic, they were clapping again at the end."
