Felli out for 6 Months!!!

Our worst fears have been confirmed....

Probably the worst news to happen last night was when David Moyes confirmed midfielder Marouane Fellaini requires an ankle operation and is likely to be out for six months.

The Belgian sustained his injury in a controversial challenge with Liverpool's Sotirios Kyrgiakos during the Merseyside derby earlier this month and sat out last week's victory against Chelsea.

But manager Moyes has revealed he will now have to plan for the remainder of the 2009/10 campaign without the 22-year-old.

"He's not good," said Moyes. "He's going to have an operation. He's got a similar injury to Robin van Persie and it's probably going to keep him out for six months."

Arsenal striker Van Persie is expected to miss the rest of the season after rupturing ankle ligaments.

The six-month prognosis places Fellaini's predicted return at mid-August, by which point the 2010/11 Premier League season will be set to begin.

Absolutely typical of our luck,id been looking forward to him and Arteta commanding the midfield on our run in....
