IT WAS THE PERFECT AWAY DAY PERFORMANCE BY EVERTON LAST NIGHT,AS THEY EDGED CLOSER TO QUALIFYING FOR EUROPE NEXT SEASON

We wondered what Everton side would turn up at Man City last night and we were not disappointed, some would say it was the perfect away day performance, strong in defence, good on the break and tactically perfect.Fantastic!!

Two goals in each half from Tim Cahill and Mikel Arteta put paid to the Manchester City Billionaires.

It was a pretty ugly first half to the game, with both sides giving nothing away and some meaty tackles thrown in for good measure, but the Blues stood firm and after Tim Cahill went past Gareth Barry, who then fouled him just outside the box in the 33rd minute,up stepped Mikel Arteta, who then fooled everyone when he laid the ball off to Leighton Baines he then clipped the ball in at pace and who was on the end of it to glance the ball past shay given,no other than Tim Cahill who loves scoring at this ground!!

The Blues went in at half time one nil to the good, and into the 2nd half, with the home side looking shaky,Everton were moving the ball much better and were creating chances, first Leon Osman tried an effort just wide after a lovely move, then more lovely passing resulted in Tim Cahill's chip flying just inches past Shay Given's right hand post.

Man City then got a foot hold in the game after an hour and for 20 minutes they dominated looking for the equaliser,David Moyes brought Jack Rodwell for Louis Saha after 70minutes to try and sure up the defence,it seemed a strange move, considering we had no outlet and couldnt get the ball out of our own half.

But it was Rodwell who was the creator of the 2nd killer goal with almost 5 minutes to go,he picked the ball up off Osman on the right wing, went past Kompany like he wasnt there, then pulled the ball back across the box,Tim Cahill dummied it marvellously and in came the onrushing Mikel Arteta who finished with aplomb to send the Evertonians into dreamland. It was a fantastic move by the Blues.

With the game over,Man city manager Roberto Mancini lost the plot completely, the ball went out of play into Moyes's hands,as Moyes was waiting to give it to a Man City player,Mancini then rushed up to Moyes and snatched the ball out his hands, like a big spoilt kid,it was hilarious!! Moyes just laughed it off,i mean lets be honest,he'd knock him out anyday!!

It was a fantastic display by the boys last night, just what we needed going into the last 7 games,we go to Wolves on Saturday full of confidence,a European place must be in our sights now!!
