Pools boss calls on team to keep it up

Hartlepool boss Danny Wilson has called on his team to keep up the good work in their two homes games this week. Delighted with their fightback win at walsall on Saturday, he says it will go to waste if the players can't follow it up with good results against Huddersfield on Tuesday night and Brighton on Saturday.

The win at Walsall came at the end of a patchy run for Pools, in fact it was at the end of a patchy game, too. They were awful for much of the first half, but improved in the second and once they started playing their football, they were always on top.
Wilson has refused to be drawn on his reaction to the way subs Matty Robson (left) and David Foley were greeted by some of the team's travelling fans when he sent them on in the second half.
But he was clearly delighted when ropbson made one goal and scored another as Pools grabbed three goals in 11 minutes to turn the game round.
Both Huddersfield and Brighton have also had inconsistent starts to the season and both are below Pools in the League One table.
Wins in both games will really get the season back on course, and six points would be a valuable boost ahead of trips to Carlisle and Leyton Orient next week - two more teams below Pools in the current table.
Wilson knows Pools can score goals - three a game seems to be the average at the moment. But he also knows that the defence can't keep clean sheets.
If he can put that right, things just might be looking up.
