The sun reported today that Hull are chasing Sunderland forward Michael Chopra. The fee is reported to be around 4 million for the out of favour striker. Hull manager Phil Brown is likely to Strengthen his attacking options in the window and has also been liked with a bid for Sheffield United's James Beattie in recent days.
Chopra signed for Sunderland in the summer of 2007 from Cardiff in a 5 Million pound move. Since the move made only 38 appearances for the club scoring only 8 goals. He was then loaded back to Cardiff On 6 November 2008.He scored 5 goals in 11 appearances on his return. The loan deal ran out on the 31st December and despite Chopra and Cardiff wanting to extend the loan further sunderland rejeced the request.
Beattie also Joined Sheffield Unitedin the summer of 2007 for a fee of 4 million pounds. he has scored 34 goals in 62 appearances for the blades and was the second top scorer in the championship last season. He has scored 12 goals in 23 appearances this season
who would you prefer?
Chopra who in my opinion still isn't a proven Premiership Striker but may have a point to prove if sunderland let him go and he is still only 25.
James Beattie has been around for years and has been a regular scorer in the premiership. he is 3,0 31 in Feb this year so is an expreienced older option

We've also got Diouf, so I wouldn't be too sad if he left. Would provide us with money to spend on other players.
But if Diouf leaves then we can't really afford to sell Chopra on incase we get an injury.
Apparently Cardiff are trying to take him back on loan.
