Mick Delighted to Get Pre-Season Underway

Town boss Mick McCarthy has admitted he is delighted that Town's summer off is at an end the club can finally get cracking with preprations for the new season.

So far over the summer Town have managed to acquire the services of Cole Skuse as well as signing former loanees, Jay Tabb Daryl Murphy and David McGoldrick on full deals. Town boss Mick McCarthy says that he would like to add some more players to his squad, but it will not be an easy task.

Speaking to the Official Club website, the former Wolves Supremo said: “I’m obviously delighted we have been able to bring in the players we have done Of course we still want to add to that - we have lost a fair number of players from last year - and we’re looking for a squad of at least 20 but it’s been a quiet summer so far – in general.

"Financial Fair Play is definitely making an impact and players are not moving to clubs as quickly as in previous years. There are a lot of players not going back to work this week, players who will be waiting to see if they’ve got jobs and that is what it comes down to – jobs."
