An interview with the Grimsby fan

We resurrect a long forgotten feature, it's been over a year but we now interview long suffering Grimsby fan, Dave Parrott. The "Pontooner" now lives in Lincoln and has to put up with several Lincoln fans taunting him but how does he feel about the playoffs, Futcher, Martin Gritton and flipcharts?

Favourite Players Past and Present Sir John McDermott is everyone's favourite and always will be. Paul Futhcer was a legend even though his son is inept. Danny Coyne kept up up for a while and Nano Bonetti made life fun and gave us a reason to hate Brian Laws forever.

When Northampton equalised, was it easier when you found out that Orient had won and you would have gone into the playoffs either way? Nothing made it easier, with seconds left were we up, I'm still gutted now.

Do you think the two playoff games will be as one sided as the league games? Not a chance. It will be a goal either way, unless Futcher play from the start. Slade won't allow another disgrace.

Ben Futcher, discuss. A useless klutz, we would be up if we didn't sign him.

You told me Gritton was good, what happened? I lied. He was ok coming off the bench for us. He's not suited to the long ball game that our teams play.

You did the double over Cheltenham but Wycombe did the double over you. Does that mean that you'd rather play Cheltenham if you made the final? I'll take anyone at this point but Cheltenham have hit form at the right time so they worry me.

Russell Slade's got a lovely flipchart, what is your opinion on his half time rant at Sincil Bank? He was giving a false impression that we are rubbish so you underestimate us and we can beat you in the playoffs 7-0.

Michael Reddy's injured for the forseeable future, how much do you reckon that will impact on your chances of going up? They'll patch him up and he'll play some part, but everyone's injured so it won't make much of a difference.

What are your predictions for both games? A draw at Sincil Bank and 1-0 to us at Blundell Park.

Finally, do you have any last comments for the Lincoln fans? If you do go up, at least beat Scunny for us.
