Speculation linking Gareth Bale with a massive move to Old Trafford has cooled, after the player said he was 'happy' at Real Madrid, and wanted to 'continue' winning trophies with the club.
The Welsh international has struggled with an ankle injury at Real this season, and spent most of Saturday's Champions League final on the substitute's bench.
Isco had snatched Bale's place in the Real Madrid team, and is a popular fighter among Bernabeu supporters, while Bale has come in for a degree of criticism.
The situation has fuelled speculation that the former Spurs and Southampton man could leave Madrid, with the Red Devils rumoured to be interested in exploring a big-money move.
However, following the 4-1 Champions League final win in Bale's home city of Cardiff, the 27-year-old spoke optimistically about his future with Blancos.
"We are winning trophies and I am happy. I have signed a long-term contract at Madrid," said the Euro 2016 semi-finalist.
"My family is happy and I am happy, so yes we will continue what we are doing."
Bale added "the reason" he moved to Real was to "win trophies", and said the team would "continue to do so". He said: "I think we can get better. We are still quite young as a whole team and we have a great squad."
Chelsea were also linked with a move for Bale's services in January, though the player recently penned a contract extension which ties him to the 12-time European Cup winners until 2022.pqs: qs:
