£4M Bid For Duff Being Considered

Newcastle United are said to have received a £4million bid for winger Damien Duff by a Premier League club. The Irishman has already said he wishes to stay at Newcastle and end his career with the club, but with wages being cut, owner Mike Ashley could move to make a quick deal happen meaning Duff could follow Martins, Bassong and Beye out the door.

Chris Hughton said of the transfer speculation;

"There will be a lot of talk about players leaving the club.

There are plenty of quality players here still and that always leads to speculation like that."

I'm guessing that's a generic quote from Hughton, and not actual said in relation to this specific bid?
