S.Taylor: "I'm Going Nowhere"

Steven Taylor has said he wants to repay the fans faith by sticking with Newcastle United, despite owner Mike Ashley's desperate bids at cutting the wage bill. Taylor has seen fellow players Sebastian Bassong, Habib Beye, Obafemi Martins and Damien Duff be sold off over the summer and can't have helped but notice the amount of speculation linking him with several Premier League clubs.
However, Taylor has been quoted this weekend saying he has no plans to leave and wants to stay at the club.
He was quoted in the Sunday Express saying;
"I was in the team that was relegated and now I want to being the team that wins promotion back to the Premier League.
I know how much the fans were hurt by relegation and now I want to help put a smile back on their faces.
They are the best in the country and there's no way I want to leave them."
...And also in The People where he is quoted as saying;
"I'm going nowhere. I'm a Geordie and this is my club. This is where I want to be.
I've heard all the talk about me leaving in the past couple of weeks, but no-one has contacted either me or my representatives and that suits me down to the ground.
I've even heard I'll be going in the January transfer window, but as far as I'm concerned I'll be here for the rest of the season - and longer if possible.
I am committed to Newcastle United and I hope I prove that every time I pull on the black and white shirt."

But unlike those other lads, I feel I can trust him on this one, and it makes me feel a hell of a lot better about the defensive situation.
