Whew...not the cruciate...much less serious injury.

The language (a period of time) makes me think that he'll be out for the season, however, unless he comes along really quickly and we face a severe injury crisis.

Was fearing the worst with this so it's good to read that it's not as serious as it could have been. No need to rush him back either which is nice, as is what usually happens, with Colo, Williamson, Hall and Kadar we have good numbers.

Considering it was an impact injury, the cruciate was never a concern. ACLs tear on cuts, rarely impact. As one would expect with the impact cause, it's the medial collateral, which I've had experience with. MCLs tear when you get chopped from the side and your cleats unfortunately do their job (stay in the ground). He'll be on crutches for the next couple weeks, possibly in a cast for a month if it's a level 3. If it's the challenge Bednar got booked for, I don't imagine it's a level 3. Possibly a severe level 2, but Taylor played through it.

The real question isn't whether or not the ligament is damaged but rather whether the meniscus tore as well. If it didn't he could be back around late March, early April. If it's torn, I wouldn't expect him to be healthy until the end of April.

Waffles, its like an education coming on here. The Chronicle was saying that he could be looking at a March return.

The fact that he was able to play on must be a bonus but suppose he might have done more damage by doing so.

I tore my MCL in the left knee when I was 17 from a guy missing a slide tackle by a couple inches. It was in the final minutes of my school's playoff game, so I was @#$%&.

Tore the medial miniscus in my right knee 6 months later my first week of college when I got undercut going up for a header. Between the two, I'd rather tear the MCL, I still have occasional pain from basic activities like walking up the stairs due to the miniscus tearing.

Thanks for the shout, waffles! Obviously, I didn't see it happen.

Really hope we get promoted so I can watch more than a handful of games next season...
