Kadar Awaiting A Premiership Start

Tamas Kadar is keen to get the 2010/11 season off to a good start with a Premier League debut. The Hungarian defender who was so close to Premier League action under the management of Joe Kinnear, is hopeful that 2010/11 can be his season to shine.

Despite being behind in the Newcastle United pecking order he has received praise from manager Chris Hughton, who back in March said he could abandon his search for a loan player after the 20 year old impressed as a substitute.

Kadar who made 9 starts and 7 appearances as a sub last season throughout all competitions told The Chronicle;

“I’m going to start the pre-season here. I enjoy life in Newcastle and I’m going to keep working hard.

Before this season, I had two bad injuries. The last was a broken leg, so I missed six months. But I think I’ve had a good season in the Championship and now I just aim to build on that.

It is a good feeling when you’re playing alongside Coloccini, Mike Williamson or Steven Taylor. They are quality players.

They have experience, and I’m happy playing with them.”

Talking about his International career with Hungary, Kadar added;

 “I can play for Under-21s, but maybe I can get a call for the first team. There are going to be the friendly games next season again, so maybe they can try me.”

I reckon the lad will be good enough when we need to call on him, hopefully we won't get injuries but if we do then he will do a job.

Hopefully he will get some decent amount of time during pre-season

I'd look at converting Kadar to a Left Fullback as primary position. He's put in some great shifts at that position this season, and we could definitely use some cover for Enrique. We already have three Center Backs that are ahead of him.

Does he have the pace for that in the PL, waffles? I've seen him play literally twice...

He did a fine job at left back the times he stepped in but is far more a CB. Would rather have an out and out LB for the start of the season.

Fully agree, a better left back as cover in the same style of Enrique, in case he gets injured and we then don't need to change the style of play.

Kadar will do a job for us, good to see some of the kids trying to force themselves in
