Poyet Looks To LuaLua Again

Brighton and Hove manager Gus Poyet is hoping to secure the services of Kazenga LuaLua for a third spell, despite the 20 year old missing most of the season due to a broken ankle. The young winger who scored 4 goals in 11 appearances for Poyets side until the break which occured during Brighton's game against Hartlepool, has just returned to training for Newcastle United and with limited goalscorers Alan Pardew is reviewing his younger players.

Poyet said of the situation;

"He gives us something very, very special that we don't have but it's not in our hands. It depends first on Newcastle and the system we need to set up to get the right players.

You don't just buy the first one that is available, you need to make sure you get the most important one first.

I don't know what Newcastle are going to do next year, which players they are going to sign, if they are going to use that £35 million Pardew is talking about or not.

Maybe he will get a player in that position and we've got a chance. If he cannot use the £35 million then he will need to use LuaLua."

LuaLua said back in September (whilst on loan to Brighton);

"I have to say my priority is at Newcastle United though. I love playing for Newcastle and pulling on the black-and-white shirt.

When you get the chance to play in front of 50,000 people it's amazing.

I've been here since I was a young lad and I love the club. I don't have any problems with anybody here, and if I can go on and play for Newcastle in the future it will be a dream come true for me."

For how much we would get for a fee, it seems a bit pointless, not to sure how long of a contract he has but if he is on a long one, then loan him back for another season and give the lad more experience

Agreed. The injury calls for a reset. He looked good early on for them, so he's responding to playing there.
