Look Ahead To Bulgaria Match WCQ
Robbie vs Bulgaria
June 3 2009
We look ahead to this weekends World Cup Qualifier match against the men from Bulgaria. A mixed bag of news is coming in from the camp ahead of the game in relation to injuries, which no doubt will lead to a weakened selection by Giovanni Trapatoni.A win would put us top of the table, ahead of the Italians, even though the Italians would have a game at hand.We remain confident however of victory.
This is how it stands at the moment as regards the tables.

It would be a slender one point advantage, but could prove a psychological boost for not only our boys, but detrimental to the Italians attitude.
The latest news we have on the team tells us that Caleb Folan trained today, having missed the Nigeria friendly with a knee injury. With Kevin Doyle ruled out, he is the obvious choice to partner the captain, Robbie Keane, up front. Keane himself is nursing a foot injury but Trapatoni is confident he will be fit to play, although he missed training yesterday as a "precaution".
The midfield is suffering most with Glenn Whelan leaving training today with ice strapped to his ankle and DarrenGibson returning home due to a groin injury.
These injuries could prove key to the result and could be of paramount effect to how strong the starting elevel will be. Hopefully the boys can do us proud once more and see off a Bulgarian team badly in need of a victory to keep in touch with ourselves and Italy. It's sure to be a tight one and the pace could be fast and frenzied. We look forward to a good game ahead.pqs: qs:
