Match Thread: Wolves vs Shrewsbury FA Cup 4th Round Replay
FA Cup at Molineux
February 5 2019
Wolves welcome Division 1 Shrewsbury to Molineux tonight to fight for the right to travel to Bristol City in the 5th Round of the FA Cup
After their hard earned draw at Shrewsbury, Wolves will doubtless be keen to efficiently see off the challenge posed by their opponents in this replay tonight. Fresh from superb wins at home against West Ham, and against Everton at Goodison Park Nuno Espirito Santo does not underestimate the threat posed by a team who will be desperate for a Premiership scalp. Diogo Jota is injured and Ruben Vinagre has 'flu so they will not take part in the game. Ruben Neves is nursing his injury from Saturday and will be assessed. Ryan Giles is likely to start again as he did in the first game. Wolves are hopeful of a full stadium for the game.

Substitutes: Norris, Giles, Dendoncker, Neves, Moutinho, Ennis, Jiménez
Problem was it took a shuffling of the pack with Traore on the right to work our way back into the first match.

Enjoy the evening Chicago.
Wolves 1 Town 0
Wolves 1 Town 1
Well it doesn't look like Chicago will be a curse,
You spoke too soon
Wolves 1 Shrews 2
Wolves 2 Shrews 2
Wolves have lacked ideas much of the time, with poor movement up front. Some good runs by Traore but no end result. Seems like Nuno will kick 4rse during the break
Wolves 2 Shrewsbury 2
Wolves 3 Shrews 2
Traore replaced by Raul Jimenez
Two goals from the Doc and one from Cavaleiro have seen us through a tough challenge, but through we are and now we go to Bristol City for the fifth round tie.
Now the squad will head for warm weather training tomorrow - lucky them!!
Final score: Wolves 3 Shrewsbury 2
A win's a win and we're in the hat, 5th round beckons, though I suspect we'll need to buck our ideas up versus Bristol City. I'm happy however. Many cup winners down the years have had their share of early round scarpes etc. I look forward to seeing the highlights in due course, whenever, wherever they appear!
Great to see the size of the crowd. Regardless of tonight's performance, there's certainly a buzz about the club at the moment.
Up the Wolves!!
Great they won for you too!
The squad may be strong enough to cope with two or three changes due to injury, suspension or whatever but six changes is too much.
I don't know how much emphasis Nuno is placing on the Cup but if we do the same against Bristol we will be out because they are a helluva lot stronger than Shrewsbury.
If I had any doubts about Rui being no.1 before, I haven't now.
MGW didn't play too bad but needs to play it more simply at times.
Traore had one of his better games but I would like to see him do it against Premier opposition and as he can obviously only play right wing, I don't see how he can get in when we go back to playing two in attack. He still needs to do a lot more to persuade me he is worth £18m but purely on tonight he didn't do too badly.
Costa sadly failed to impress again and is bang out of form. If a change needs to be made in attack in future it has to be Cavaleiro to come in.
Has as been said though, the main thing is we are through but it has to be a stronger side against Bristol.
Really enjoyed the game, most of it anyway. In the Old Still having a nerve steadier!!
Thanks everyone. The magic is still at The Molineux; I really hope we are not tempted to move the ground out of town.
Meantime we have a cup run. If we make it to wembly I have promised the kids (daughter in stafford, plus my two from USA) that I will take them, whatever the touts are charging
