Early start tomorrow, looking forward to catching up and the match too!!

Who knows what the team will be tomorrow, just think we have a great chance to add to Klopps woes. I sincerely hope that we approach the match with the vigour of the Anfield cup tie, not the replay. I think / hope / pray it’ll be the former. We are 3/1 for a home win. Worth a couple of quid I reckon.

2 - 0 after 1- minutes!! A very good performance from Wolves so far and surprisingly poor showing from L’pool. HCH had a poor time after making the first goal, but then pulled his hamstring and has been replaced by Adama
More please second half

Surely we must do all we can to keep Neves. Lemina was awesome and the pair of them in midfield were something else. Hope Lemina's injury isn't too serious.
A bit squeaky bum time for the for the first 20 mins. of the second half. Just beginning to think if they pull one back then, they would get a draw and then came that fantastic third goal.
Defended well. Sa looked much better and apart from one sloppy pass, Dawson didn't put a foot wrong.
Onwards.

For once, looking forward to MOTD - whatever time we're on!

Had a good stream for the first 20 minutes and it then inexplicably turned into some Asian cookery program!!!
But we looked good so need to keep it up.

Thank heavens for that result! Hope West Ham lose now.

Excellent display, excellent day!! Brilliant from start to finish, terrific to catch up with Chesh, and what a day to do it on!!

That first half was as good a 45 from the Old Gold as I can remember for quite a while. Liverpool never had a sniff. Controlled, aggressive, possession, committed, high energy ……. So incredibly enjoyable and to be honest, we could have had a few more.

Liverpool came out of the traps second half and applied considerable pressure but our defensive performance stuck to the task and our wonderful third goal eased nerves because it completely snuffed them out at a stroke. What a shame Jimenez missed his chance, 4-0 wouldn’t have been an unreasonable reflection on how much better we were than Liverpool yesterday.

They all played well, though special mention for a few. Sa, much more solid, no daft aimsless passing it around the back and a couple of very important saves in both halves. Neves …. The master. Lemina, the enforcer, does the dirty work, gets stuck in, blocks and stop, has skill too, quite brilliant yesterday and hope his injury isn’t too serious. Dawson, he made one error yesterday which made the MOTD edit but what a debut, commanding defender, organising the back line, positionally very astute, seemed to get his head and legs on everything Liverpool could throw at us. And the goal, smashed in! He’ll be a threat on set pieces.

Many other extremely good efforts from the rest too.

Listening to the post match comments from the managers yesterday, Lopetegui, clearly happy but keeping things real, nothing achieved yet, measured and balanced and despite our excitement correctly reminding us there is a long way to go. The next two matches v Southampton and Bournemouth are critical. Klopp on the other hand, his comments were verging on the laughable or delusional .. apparently he doesn’t count the third goal 😂

Anyway, I hope Julen doesn’t mind too much, because I’m still on cloud 9, haven’t started to think of St Mary’s just yet, instead still basking in the glory of a superb win!!

I can’t add much more to Ivy’s enthusiastic and thorough review of our trip to Molineux yesterday, other than to say I fulfilled my wish over our pre-match pint to see Ruben Neves score live. He continues to impress me every time I watch him play, and he still seems to enjoy playing for Wolves, so I agree with Andy we must surely do everything possible to retain him in the summer.
Lamina had a great game injecting some long overdue metal in to our midfield, whilst Dawson had a superb debut bringing us some confidence in our defence which was also clearly felt by Max Kilman who also defended stoutly.
A shame that so much of the lost match attention focuses on Liverpool’s failings but Wolves and Lopetegui in particular are being applauded for a superb performance and result.

Delighted for you both that it was such a grand day out. I was looking forward to your overview of the game, and I'm glad it sounds like a good team performance rather than a fluky win, and that the atmosphere at the Mol was great.

It's clear we have to continue season-long to fight our way out of trouble, because no teams are collapsing into the bottom three and look doomed. As JL so appositely said, every match is a cup final for us.

Neves' goal was amazing; finding the energy to sprint into a position to receive Adama's pass so late in the game was the epitome of leading by example.

I'm wondering whether we still played it out from the back in the same way as we did against Man. City (when it went it all went mammaries up for Sa), or if the tactics were different?

I would say he still did play out from the back Risca, but was more guarded about when it was appropriate to do so, and he played long when that was more prudent. I have to say we thought Nunez would score when he was through on goal in the second half, but Jose stood up well to him and saved well.

Unlikely it is down to tactics but different players notably man of the match lemina and goal scorer Dawson..amazing how the football/ tactics improves when you bring in better players.

In other news Everton played their best football in eons apparently when they beat Arsenal under " long ball dyche". Who would have thought it.

Thanks for the clarification, Cheshire. I assume from the match reports and analysis that Liverpool's 'pressing' efforts were far less organised and energetic as City's were.

I felt Liverpool were weak at winning the ball back, especially in the first half, but we really didn’t allow them a sniff, such was the level of performance. All the second balls we won, it was just amazing, and a direct result of the energy and passion.

Second half, our defending was outstanding until our 3rd though it was a rearguard action.

Molineux was rocking and so were we!!! 2 minutes of ole’s at the end to utterly rub their noses in it!!
