Wolves Fan Has Dream Moment At Molineux

WOLVESFC.CO.UK regular "Alkapone" took to the Molineux turf on Friday with his hero Steve Bull in the name of charity. He had an eventful game!

The Wolves fanatic purchased the chance to play at Molineux for Football Aid several months ago and last week his time to show off his skills on the famous Molineux turf came.

Alkapone (pictured second in the line as the players enter from the tunnel, left) starred in the first 45 minutes of the game and to his delight managed to get himself on the score sheet. It wasn't all plain sailing for the home side though.

Manager Robbie Dennison had given legend Steve Bull a left-back role to try and thwart the danger from Molineux oldie Don Goodman. The former Wolves striker with his famous hair style caused the home side trouble all afternoon but shortly after the 30 minute mark the breakthrough for the home side finally came through.

In his own words Alkapone describes his moment of glory.."Our Craddock style centre back picked the ball up after yet another attack from the away team and hit a pass up field - or in technical terms hoofed it to myself. I was still in my own half (as you can imagine the knees were knocking with nerves). Managing to split two defenders and beating them for pace I ran just inside their 18 yard box and stroked the ball past the keeper to make it one nothing".

The breakthrough had come, Alkapone had scored his goal and the fans chanted his name. "Running back to my own half with the fans cheering your name is something else I tell you!!" he said as he recalled his moment of glory.

Minutes later and it was 2-0. The scorer this time wasn't our very own Alkapone although he did play a major part in the build-up. Once again, in his own words..."Bully picked the ball up on his own 18 yard box and played a ball forward to our central midfielder who then played the ball back to the steam train of Bully. Heading in my direction he played an inch perfect pass to myself. Turning my defender I put a ball through to our right winger who put the ball into the danger area, sadly onto a defenders size 11. You know what happened next - the Own Goal was almost as good as my finish (but not quite!!!)."

The half-time whistle blew and Alkapones 45 minutes of fame was up. The home side went on to win 7-1, but for Alkapone the chance to play with Bully and score in the old gold at Wolves is a moment he'll never forget.
