A point against Southampton was quickly followed by three points from Crystal Palace. Two of the fellow title favourites have tried - and failed - to beat Wolves, but Hull arrive in town on Saturday and this will be the real test!

It was December 2004 the last time Wolves lost at Molineux and it is just one defeat in 28 games - 20 consecutive games without defeat - for Glenn Hoddles men.

Southampton should have been put to the sword but heroics from Anti Niemi prevented Wolves from securing an opening day win on Saturday, however that first win quickly followed in the second game of the season when Carl Cort headed home from close range seven minutes from time.

Wolves are looking good, the title odds have been slashed and Wolves have now been made clear favourites with every bookmaker going, but this is where we see what Wolves are made of.

We all know Wolves can raise their game against the big sides. Manchester United came to Wolves and lost, Arsenal were panicking after a Vio Ganea goal at Molineux and Wolves lead, albeit for only 10 minutes, against Chelsea's new look side during the season in the Premiership.

Sheffield United conceded four goals to Wolves in the final game of last season and Ipswich, aiming for Automatic promotion at the time, arrived at Molineux to be hammered in what was described as the best display from any championship side all season by SKY TV.

However on Saturday Wolves will face Hull in what will be a huge test of character, determination and strength. Hull are not fancied for anything big and will be made heavy underdogs by the bookies prior to this game, but in the past this is the type of game Wolves have lost in the past and this is the kind of game which time and time again has cost Wolves promotion.

If Wolves can perform on Saturday in what will be a very tough game against a well organised side then the chance of promotion will be increased - these are the games Wolves need to win and these are the games Wolves must win if promotion is to be achieved.
