A bad day at the office for an unhappy Hoddle

WOLVES boss Glenn Hoddle could be on the brink of the sack following another poor result at home. Wolves Chief Executive Jez Moxey described the season as a "complete disaster" prior to the game and it didn't go down well with the Wolves boss.

Wolves are currently in what Glenn Hoddle calls the "business end" of the season but the pressure has been turned up on the Wolves boss after his side went five games without a win following the 1-1 draw with Watford on Saturday.

It was a day which went from bad to worse for the former England boss which started off with an interview for Sky Sports news prior to the game. The Wolves boss was asked to react to comments made in the programme by Chief Jez Moxey who had described the season as a complete disaster. However Hoddle appeared shocked before admitting he had not read the programme notes and said he and the Chief Executive would need a "sit down" should the comments be true.

Hoddle then watched as his side threw away a 1-0 lead to Watford and disgruntled fans chanted "We want Hoddle out" as they watched their side complete the 34th draw in Hoddle's 67th match in charge.

Another interview with Sky Sports followed in which the Wolves boss claimed that Moxey had not described the season as a failure and the boss then asked whether the journalist would read the notes properly before coming back to apologise.

However Hoddle was wrong. On page 8 of the matchday programme Jez Moxey clearly writes "It has to be said that most of us feel that this season has been a complete disaster because of where we are likely to finish in the league table"

After re-reading the notes Hoddle appeared at the post match press conference where he accused the Chief Executive of having his "financial head" on whilst summarising the season in his column titled "Need to embrace culture change".

"To say the season has been a complete disaster is Jez's opinion, not mine." Said Hoddle after the game.

"Being relegated would be a disaster but we are one place below the play-off zone. Maybe he is talking about the season with his financial head on.

  "If he wants to say those things in the programme then that's his prerogative. I am confident I will still be manager (next season). I've got a 12 month rolling contract and that thought hasn't entered my head."

Of the game Hoddle added "The game was similar to Coventry in that we should have come in at half-time with a greater lead," Glenn said.

  "We had our chances in the first half and didn't take them. Tomasz Frankowski is bewildered why he hasn't scored. He has never gone this long in his career without a goal. But I am confident that once he gets one he will score a lot."

Wolves next travel to Preston North End on Easter Monday.
