Division Two Champions aiming High! |

Wigan Athletic skipper, Jason de Vos has predicted that
his team will fly straight through Division One and into the Premiership. The Latics were crowned champions on Saturday, after their 0-0 away draw with Huddersfield Town. Wigan currently lead the division by 13 points with 3 games to go, and have played some fantastic football this season worthy of the Division Two championship. "I didn't come to Wigan Athletic looking at them as a Division Two club but as one which has a bright future and can go through the leagues. It is not impossible. Fulham have done it recently. There is no reason why we cannot follow" said the confident De Vos, who has played a major part in Wigan's championship winning season. Latics chairman, Dave Whelan said, "It's been a long road. We won the Division Three title and now we have been promoted to the First. But Wigan aren't stopping there, our aim is to go for the Premiership.". Whelan went on to praise manager Paul Jewell, who has done a fantastic job since arriving at the JJB Stadium. I would like to wish Wigan the best of luck in Division One next season, whether the Bluebirds will be with them is another story. |
